A POOL SHAPEDlike a continent

Two guests on the submerged steps of the pool, seen from above

Three of them. One to swim lengths in, one for children, and a saltwater pool cut in the outline of Africa. A few steps from the room, and open from eight in the morning.

The concept

The C Resort began as Captan's Cabin, a family's house on the Prampram shore

It was one of the reasons Ghanaians started coming to this stretch of coast at all. Eighteen acres now, forty-five rooms, and a beach the turtles were using first.

Rooms, suites and apartments, some opening onto the garden and some onto the water. Carved local timber, calabash light, and work by Ghanaian artists on every wall.

What is here

The Africa-shaped pool from directly above, loungers along its edge

One for lengths, one for children, and the Africa pool, filled with salt water.

A massage in progress in the spa room

Massage by the resort's own therapists, in a room that smells of the garden.

The glass padel court beside the beach

A glass court on the sand, floodlit, with the Atlantic on three sides of it.

The court by the sea, the water beyond the fence

Lawn tennis, table tennis, mini golf and a giant chess set nobody finishes.

A foal grazing the lawns

Ostriches, pygmy goats, donkeys, and land tortoises older than the buildings.

Eating here

THREE CUISINES, one SHORELINE

Lebanese, Mediterranean and Ghanaian, cooked from scratch and served wherever you happen to be sitting. Mornings start with manakeesh out of the oven, eggs done properly and fruit cut that day. Lunch is grouper off the grill, hummus and fattoush, chargrilled tiger prawns, eaten with sand underfoot. Dinner runs long, and the Breeze Bar keeps the drinks going after it.

The menu is broad, but nothing on it is there for show. Order the banku with fried fish, order the chinchinga, order the bofrot with chocolate dip for after, and if something was landed that morning, order that.

30,000+Olive Ridley hatchlings released

The beach in front of the resort is a nesting site. It is kept quiet through the season, the nests are watched, and guests are invited down when a launch happens. The turtle in the logo is not decoration.
